Four Men Arraigned, Woman’s Case Delayed in High Court
Tonight, four men are back behind bars following their appearance before Justice Nigel Pilgrim in the High Court. A fifth person, a woman accused of a serious sex offense, remains out on bail as her case was adjourned. Here’s how it all unfolded. Ulide Allen and Marquis Conorquie were jointly indicted for the murder of Stanley Jerome Moore and the attempted murder of Joshua Gillett, both incidents happened in Belize City back in June 2024. They pleaded not guilty and will return to court on December eighth. Andre Arthurs is facing a murder charge for the killing of Mark Usher Jr. in March of this year. He also pleaded not guilty and, since he appeared without legal representation, the judge gave him until December eighth to get his paperwork in order. His next court date is set for December twelfth. Then there’s Mark Stevens, who’s accused of attempting to murder Juan Carlos Reyes Pineda in June. Justice Pilgrim noted complications in the case and said Stevens will be assigned legal counsel. He’s due back in court on November tenth. And finally, Shania Welch of Gales Point Manatee, she’s accused of a serious sex offense involving a minor. Her arraignment was delayed, and she’ll be back in court on November fourteenth. Welch is represented by attorney Nazira Myles-Espat.
