Frankfurt to Belize: Germany Gets Its Own Flight to the Jewel

A new direct air link between Germany and Belize is on the way. The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has announced that Discover Airlines will fly from Frankfurt to Belize City starting December 16, 2027.

The service is seasonal, with flights twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, through mid-April 2028. The BTB says the schedule lines up with Belize’s dry season and the European winter travel months.

Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations Anthony Mahler said the route supports Belize’s push to diversify its source markets and expand international air connections.

“The introduction of this new service is of strategic importance to Belize’s tourism industry as we continue to diversify our source markets and expand international air connectivity. Strengthening our presence in Europe is a key priority, and this new connection from Frankfurt opens opportunities to attract more visitors from Germany and across the region, while making it easier for travelers to experience the best of Belize, from our world-renowned Barrier Reef and pristine islands to our lush rainforests, ancient Maya sites, and rich cultural heritage.”

The BTB says the route creates a new gateway for travellers from Germany and connects European markets.

Discover Airlines is the Lufthansa Group’s leisure airline in Germany. It flies from Frankfurt and Munich and has operated since the summer of 2021. The BTB says it will work with Discover Airlines and tourism industry partners to strengthen Belize’s presence in Europe and increase visitation from the region.
