Government Extends MSME Tax Amnesty to December 2025

There’s good news for small businesses across Belize; the government is giving you more time to catch up and cash in on tax relief. The MSME Tax Amnesty Program has just been extended, and here’s what that means for entrepreneurs looking to formalize and grow. The Government of Belize has announced that the MSME Tax Amnesty Program will now run until December thirty-first, 2025. The extension was confirmed during a Special Sitting of the House of Representatives on October seventeenth. This move gives micro, small, and medium enterprises extra time to clear outstanding business tax penalties and interest and even qualify for up to one year of business tax exemption. Officials say the extension also ensures pending applications from previous roadshow stops are processed and that all eligible businesses receive their Tax Amnesty Certificates. The government is urging MSMEs to take advantage of this opportunity to formalize operations and strengthen growth.
