Gunman on the Run After Teen Murder  

An eighteen-year-old Belize City Resident is dead, and his killer remains at large. Alex Miranda lived in the Antelope Street Extension Area where a gunman opened fire in his direction and inflicted fatal gunshot injuries. The incident played out on Sunday night and according to police, Miranda tried to escape his killer but later collapsed in front of a yard not too far from his home. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, investigators are working to determine a motive.

“On Sunday the thirty-first of August police responded to a shooting incident in the Antelope Street Area of Belize City. Upon their arrival they saw the lifeless body of Alex Miranda with gunshot injuries. Information is that Alex Miranda was walking in the area when he was followed by a male person who fired several shots in his direction. He ran off but the persons caught up with him and fired shots several times. We are seeking one suspect in regards to this murder. We do not have a motive at this time. We are following up several leads.”
