Here are Belize’s New Ambassadors
Belize has named a new slate of ambassadors and senior diplomats who will take up postings in key countries and international organisations. Prime Minister John Briceño announced the appointments today, with them taking effect on August 1.
Katherine Meighan will serve as Ambassador to Taiwan, Nestor Mendez as Ambassador to the United States, and Joshua Pott as Minister Counsellor to the United States.
Meanwhile, Janine Coye Felson has been named Permanent Representative to the United Nations, with Kenrick Williams as her Deputy.
Other appointments include Lou-Anne Burns Martinez as Ambassador to El Salvador, Perlita Aldana as Ambassador to Cuba, Luis Salazar as Chargé d’Affaires to Cuba, Henry Canton as Ambassador for Trade to the Caribbean Community, and Alfonso Gahona and Ayesha Borland as Ambassadors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Cherie Nisbet, Oscar Arnold, and Jose Alpuche remain as Ambassadors.
The diplomats are currently in Belize for the annual Heads of Mission Encounter at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will depart to take up their assignments in the coming days.
