Home Invasion in Blackman Eddy Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

Sergio Andino, a 25-year-old Belizean construction worker from San Ignacio Town, was killed during a home invasion in Blackman Eddy Village at around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Police say he was found inside the house with chop wounds to his body.

According to investigators, 70-year-old Patricia Ireland, 65-year-old Nadia Ireland, and 57-year-old Eustace Emmanuel Ireland were asleep when two armed men entered. One carried a handgun; the other, a machete.

Police reported Emmanuel confronted one of the intruders. The attack left Emmanuel and the two other residents injured.

Andino was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
