Honduras President Underscores Unity at Travel Market 2025

The Central America Travel Market 2025 is underway in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where our News Five team is on the ground capturing all the highlights. Day two opened with dynamic business-to-business meetings and networking opportunities among tourism stakeholders from across the region. But the day’s biggest moment came with a surprise visit from Honduras’ President, Xiomara Castro. Her appearance underscored national pride in hosting this year’s regional showcase and reaffirmed Honduras’ commitment to advancing tourism both locally and throughout Central America. President Castro toured the exhibition floor, stopping by booths that featured Honduras’ diverse tourism offerings, its private sector and regional representatives, and posed for photos with event organizers with Belize making representation in Pro Tempore of FEDECATUR, Efren Perez. According to Vice Minister Reizel Vilorio, President Castro’s presence sent a strong message of unity and collaboration as Central America continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s most promising travel destinations.

“We were really happy to have and host the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, yesterday in a short but great visit to our stand and to the pavilions of the Central America Travel Market. She arrived and wanted to show the private sector that the government is really interested in having their backs and helping them develop their products and showcase what tourism can do for our country and also for our region. That also sends a message to the rest of the countries that they can talk and work together on policies that can make a greater impact on the region, in favor of all the touristic entrepreneurs or the adventures of whatever products we’re trying to sell to the world. She was really glad to be here and was amazed by the greatness of the event and by seeing us all working together. We were happy to have her here.”
