“I Just Saw Him Yesterday”: Family Grieves “Sparrow” After Dangriga Shooting

A shooting in Dangriga Town has claimed the life of Bernaldo Gorosica, better known as “Sparrow.”

Gorosica was shot in the Riverside area on Friday evening. He was a well-known figure from the “Salty Dog” area, remembered by family and friends as a cheerful fisherman who always carried a smile.

While police continue their investigation into the shooting, Sparrow’s cousin says the loss is deeply personal.

“He was a fisherman, cool person, always happy, full ah vibes, always have ah big smile pan his face,” she told News Five. “Talking bout him bring tears to my eyes.”

She added that Gorosica was a father of two sons and said she had spoken with him just a day before his death. “I just saw him yesterday, he hail me and ask me if I alright with a big smile. He neva pass me and nuh hail me… still can’t believe it.”

Police investigations continue.
