Indian Creek Council Distances Itself from Land Scheme

The Indian Creek Village Council is drawing a firm line in the sand, publicly distancing itself from what it calls an illegal and corrupt land distribution scheme unfolding in the community. In a strongly worded release issued Tuesday, the council says it was not involved in the cutting of survey lines or the issuing of land certificates now circulating in Indian Creek. Instead, it squarely places the blame on the village Alcalde and his supporters, calling the actions “lawless,” “invalid,” and an embarrassment to local leadership. The council warns that the distribution has reportedly included non‑residents, people who already own land, and even children, a move it says violates village mandates and undermines trust. It also made clear that neither Justices of the Peace nor the 2015 CCJ Consent Order authorize this kind of land allocation. While the council says it has been working in good faith with landowners to regularize tenure for schools, the cemetery, and homes, it insists those efforts are now at risk. The unauthorized actions, the council warns, threaten legitimate negotiations meant to benefit the entire village.
