Island Supermarket Targeted in Apparent Arson
A newly opened Island Supermarket in the Tres Cocos area of San Pedro Town was broken into and deliberately set on fire in an apparent act of arson early Sunday morning.
The supermarket, which had been open for only three days, was targeted between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m.
The perpetrators broke into the store, filled a shopping cart, set it on fire, and pushed it into a shelf before leaving. We are told that nothing was stolen from the establishment.
Police and fire authorities responded to reports of the fire, and no injuries were reported. The extent of the damage has not yet been officially confirmed as investigations continue.
