Jahreem ‘32’ Staine Heads to Trial January 13, 2026
Twenty-two-year-old Jahreem “32” Staine was back in Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of promoting gang-related activity. He asked what sentence he might face if he pled guilty. The magistrate warned the penalty under a section of the Crime Control and Criminal Justice Act could be up to five years in prison and/or a twenty-thousand-dollar fine. Staine kept his not guilty plea and will head to trial on January thirteenth, 2026. He also faces two contempt of judicial order charges, tied to bail conditions. Police say he failed to sign in at Belama Police Station on September fifth and October third, 2025, despite a requirement to sign every Friday, between six a.m. and six p.m. Violence followed his court appearances: on September fifth, multiple shots were fired near Buttonwood Primary School after he left court. Staine escaped unscathed. Then on October fourth, there was a second ambush near Horizon Primary School; two men were hit, Staine was again unhurt. Separately, Staine, alongside Eric Frazer, is charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm against Jimmy Rojas, twenty-eight, in an incident around on May third, 2025, at Tibruce Street and Croton Lane. He’s out on High Court bail and awaits a preliminary inquiry. An attempt by his then attorney, Norman Rodriguez, to dismiss the contempt charges on Oct 9, 2025, was rejected.
