Jahreem “32” Staine Targeted Again?

Police are investigating a shooting at a basketball court in the Lake Independence area of Belize City on Friday night. Officers were alerted of shots fired at around 7:30 p.m. on La Croix Boulevard. Initial reports are that several people were injured.

Reports indicate that the injured include Anthony Reyes, Devon Parham, Tyrique Leslie, and Jahreem “32” Staine, who is believed to have been the intended target.

Staine has been a known target before. On September 3, his vehicle was fired upon on Coney Drive as he left the Magistrate’s Court. He was unharmed. Just a couple weeks later, he was once more caught in a volley of gunfire while in a vehicle. He was unharmed in both incidents.

Authorities have previously asserted that the 23-year-old leads a faction of one of the city’s rival gangs.
