Labor Minister’s Dual Role Raises Eyebrows at Union Talks

There was a familiar face at the negotiating table on Thursday—Labor Minister Florencio Marin Jr. sat in on the latest meeting between the Joint Unions Negotiating Team and government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Cordel Hyde. While Marin was there strictly as an observer, his presence didn’t go unnoticed. After all, he wears two hats: one as a government minister, and the other with the labor tribunal.
