Labour Department Adds Card Payments for Work Permits

Applying for a Temporary Employment Permit in Belize just got easier. The Labour Department has added credit and debit card payments to its online system, which gives applicants three options to pay: Treasury deposits, e-Kyash, and now, credit and debit cards.

The TEP system was initially introduced in 2021 and was designed to cut delays and make applications more convenient. With the new upgrade, payments can be made securely from anywhere, with instant confirmation.

Minister of Labour Florencio Marin Jr said, “This launch is not just about technology; it is about the role of the Labour Department in shaping a labour market that is fair, transparent, and supportive of national growth.”

Minister of State Dr. Osmond Martinez added that the initiative “is about building a Belize where efficiency, accountability, and fairness guide the way the government serves workers, employers, and investors.”
