Ladyville Duo Busted with Marijuana on Bus Filled with Cops
Two Ladyville residents are in police custody tonight after making a bold and baffling attempt to transport over fifteen pounds of marijuana… on a bus full of police officers. Yes, you heard that right. Fifty-two-year-old Ellis Rudon and Misty Smith boarded the bus in Orange Walk Town, apparently unaware that nearly every seat was filled with officers heading to work the same shift. Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith says the officers quickly picked up on something suspicious, and what happened next was a swift takedown that ended with the pair in handcuffs and the drugs seized. Authorities are now investigating how the marijuana was packaged and where it was headed. Charges are expected to be filed soon.
