Lords Bank Drug Bust Nets Cash, Cannabis, and Charges

Tonight, a major drug bust in rural Belize has landed two young adults in serious trouble with the law. Earlier today, police carried out a house search in Lords Bank Village and what they found was more than just a stash. Inside the home were twenty-seven-year-old Andre Lewis Belisle, an office assistant, and twenty-one-year-old Monica Olga Bowden, a call center agent. Officers discovered cannabis hidden throughout the house, over two thousand, two hundred grams, or nearly five pounds of it. But that’s not all. A licensed Glock pistol, one hundred rounds of ammunition, and twenty-seven thousand, sixty-five dollars in cash were also seized. All items have been sealed and labeled as exhibits as the investigation continues. Tonight, both Belisle and Bowden are facing three counts of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. Police say they’re not ruling out further charges as they dig deeper into the case.
