Major Errol Robateau, Salvation Army Leader and Author, Dies at 80

Former Regional Commander of the Salvation Army Belize, Major Errol Robateau, has passed away at the age of eighty. Born in Mullins River back in 1945, Major Robateau dedicated more than four decades of his life to service, working across the Caribbean and Central America as a pastor, administrator, and eventually, regional commander. In fact, he was appointed twice to lead the Salvation Army in Belize, most notably in 2004 when the organization faced serious financial and administrative challenges. He also authored the book ‘The Salvation Army Celebrates Seventy-Five Years of Service in Belize.’ But his story wasn’t without hardship. In 2018, Major Robateau survived a violent home invasion in Hattieville, a case that drew national attention. Tonight, we remember a man whose life was marked by faith, resilience, and unwavering commitment to community.
