Ministry of Home Affairs to Announce NEW CEO on Monday
The Ministry of Home Affairs is getting ready to welcome a new Chief Executive Officer in the coming days. The official appointment follows consultations and a formal recommendation. It was speculated that Rear Admiral Elton Bennett of the Belize Coast Guard is up for the post but today Prime Minister John Briceño revealed that he was one of several notable public figures considered. For now, National Security CEO Francis Usher continues to serve in an acting capacity. Here’s what PM Briceño had to say on the pending announcement.

“Is there a new CEO for the Ministry of Home Affairs?”
Prime Minister John Briceño
“No, but we’ll make the announcement on Monday. We were pretty much there, but I don’t want to jump gun until when I meet this individual.”

“Was Admir Admiral Bennett in the running?”
Prime Minister John Briceño
“There are several people that are in the race, including Admiral Bennett, and even former Commissioner Chester Williams. Different. There were about four or five different persons that that were brought up.”
