Minor Left Critical Following RTA in OW
Police are investigating a traffic collision in Guinea Grass Village that left a 13-year-old boy in critical condition on Christmas Day.
The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on an unnamed dirt road. A 24-year-old man, identified as Nathaniel Varvallez, was driving when a Lifan 110 scooter being operated by the minor exited a yard and collided with his vehicle.
However, a member of the minor is refuting that account. She alleges the driver was ‘speeding’. She also says that the minor was in the yard at the time of the accident.
We are told that the child was not wearing a helmet at the time. He sustained serious injuries. He was initially transported to the Northern Regional Hospital and was later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) in Belize City, where he remains in critical condition.
