Moist and Unstable Conditions to Prevail Across Belize
The National Meteorological Service (NMS) is forecasting relatively moist and unstable weather conditions to prevail across the country today, bringing the possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas.
According to the NMS’s general weather forecast and four-day outlook, no advisories are currently in effect. However, forecasters continue to monitor tropical activity in the Atlantic and Caribbean regions.
In its Tropical Weather Outlook, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) reports that a tropical wave near the Windward Islands is generating a broad area of showers and thunderstorms. The system is expected to move westward into the Caribbean Sea early next week, with gradual development possible over the coming days.
At this time, the system poses no immediate threat to Belize, but the NMS says it will continue to closely monitor its progress.
The NHC gives the tropical wave a 10% chance of formation within 48 hours and a 30% chance over the next seven days. Residents are advised to stay informed through official weather updates as the system develops.
