More Details of 26-Year-Old Father Found Murdered in Parking Lot

The common-law partner of 26-year-old Patrick Uh says she is struggling to understand why anyone would stab him to death, after his body was found motionless in the parking lot of New Moon Supermarket near Mile 10 on the Philip Goldson Highway.

Uh was identified by his common-law wife, Roxanna Aldana, who said she went to the location after hearing he was lying on the ground, hoping he had only fallen asleep after drinking. “I walk way by 24/7, di pray that he drunk, mek I bring him home, but when I reach there, I see police. I see the caution sign. I wanted to go and see him,” she said. “Nobody no di give me no ansa.”

Police found Uh lying face up on a wooden pallet with an apparent stab wound to the chest. A black-handled knife with a broken silver metal blade was found beneath his left hand. He was later pronounced dead at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

She said it was only after officers lifted the body that she realised he had been killed. “When they lift up he, I see the floor full ah blood, and seh ‘they kill my bwai,’” Aldana said.

According to Aldana, Uh didn’t have any problems with anyone. “He da one person weh, he drink, but he no find problems,: she said. “He da mi jokey person, and loving with his family”

Uh leaves behind a four-year-old daughter, and Aldana says she now struggles to explain his death to her.

“She di ask me, ‘Mommy when Daddy di come home back? and I tell ah daddy di work, because I can’t tell ah. She only see me di cry.”
