A mother has been waiting for her daughter’s call since March 31st. That’s the last time she heard of 31-year-old Kenia Chan and her two children, 15-year-old Ezekiel Montejo and six-year-old Dorian Montejo.

“From last month, that was the last time I heard from her. Because she always used to call me like every week or so,” said Delia Corrales, Chan’s mother.

Chan and her kids were formally reported missing on Monday by Correles after not hearing from them for several days. Chan was last staying in Las Flores Village in Belmopan, Cayo District, and living with her current partner.

Corrales said she learned from a former employer that the man has a history of violent behaviour when drinking. She said, “The boss reported him to the police because he was drunk and destroying something from him. So the police get him and was like three weeks detained.”

Attempts to reach the partner’s family have also gone unanswered, Corrales said, adding that she believes the man is originally from Guatemala and may be undocumented.

“I would like people to help me that if they see her anywhere, they can contact me,” she pleaded. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 922, use the P3 Tips app, or report to the nearest police station.
