MS‑13 Gang Member Handed Over to Guatemalan Authorities
Belizean authorities handed over 45‑year‑old Marvin Edgardo Sandoval, also known as “Cirillo,” a Salvadoran national and member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS‑13) gang, to Guatemalan officials on Friday.
Sandoval had been issued an ‘Order to Leave’ Belize and classified as a prohibited immigrant. His removal was carried out in a joint operation led by G13 officers in San Ignacio alongside immigration officials.
He was handed over to customs authorities in Melchor de Mencos, Petén, and later transferred by Guatemalan migration for expulsion to El Salvador.
Sandoval is the second known Salvadoran MS‑13 member removed from Belize in recent months. In November, authorities assisted in the arrest of Julio Cesar at Belize’s western border.
Both men are affiliated with MS‑13, which originated in Los Angeles and is classified by the U.S. government as a “transnational criminal organization.”
