Mystery in Santa Elena: Couple Found Dead

Two families are awaiting answers after a young couple was found dead inside the home they shared near Hillview Park in Santa Elena. The discovery has left investigators with several questions, including how long the couple had been there and what caused their deaths. Their bodies were reportedly in an advanced state of decomposition, and police have not yet established whether foul play was involved. Shane Williams reports on the investigation and the families’ search for answers.

“The Cayo community is mourning once again. This time it is a double fatality as the bodies of two young, ambitious, and talented individuals, 31-year-old Michael Williams and 21-year-old Delisha Estrada, are in this home behind us as forensic expert conduct an on-site postmortem examination. According to residents, they have only been living in this house for about four months, and a month ago they visited the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Hall to speak to Mayor Earl Shopp about assistance for a trade license to start their business. They have been selling fruits and vegetables under that shed in front of the house for the past week, and unfortunately over this weekend, something went terribly wrong Right.”

“I know them very well. As a matter of fact, they were in my office last week, I think Tuesday or Wednesday, along with the little baby. And then again, I met them after the parade in Santa Elena on Thursday you know. And I will speak to what I know. And to  be honest, I’ve known them to be two enthusiastic individual, two people with ambition and honestly they were very much intelligent. And two individual that were looking for a future and, and they seem to have had that ambition. So it certainly have been shocking to me and of course to the people that knew them.”

“ I just want to find out what happened to my daughter. And believe it or not, anything I hear out there and everybody wey know she and know them, they’re lying because we know my daughter would never kill herself and left her son. She would never do that. She loved that little boy there. And worse, if she need to go anywhere, who… we ih goh left that little boy, you know? So we know she noh kill herself. She just start back school, high school back. She just… So why, why she wa kill herself, you know? We just… I just wanna know what happened to my daughter mek I just bury my daughter.”
