NEBL Manager Quits Days Before Season Starts
Dr Karim Juan has resigned as Operations Manager of the National Elite Basketball League (NEBL), just days before the start of its eighth season.
In a press release, the league said Dr Juan had “fulfilled his obligations to ensure that the league commenced in a timely manner” before stepping down. His departure comes as the NEBL prepares for opening night at the Belize City Civic Center on Friday.
The league has appointed Marvin Garcia as Deputy Commissioner. He will be responsible for overseeing referees, table officials, and game-day logistics throughout the season.
The season opens with a doubleheader on Friday night, featuring the San Pedro Tiger Sharks against the Cayo Western Ballaz, followed by the Belize City Defenders hosting the Orange Walk Running Rebels. Games continue Saturday when Belmopan Trojans face Corozal Spartans at the UB gym.
