Noticiero 5 Semanal Marks One Year of Informing Belize — En Español

This week, Noticiero 5 Semanal proudly celebrates its first anniversary, marking one year since Greater Belize Media launched its first full-length Spanish-language television newscast.

Since its debut in March 2025, the program has become a trusted source of information for Spanish-speaking viewers across Belize and beyond. Airing every Thursday at 7:00 p.m., the weekly broadcast delivers a comprehensive roundup of the most important national stories, carefully produced and prepared to ensure audiences stay informed on politics, community developments, culture, and issues affecting everyday life.

Over the past year, the production has expanded both in content and reach. In addition to its top national stories, Noticiero 5 Semanal features an interactive weekly poll, inviting viewers to share their opinions on pressing issues. Responses are collected throughout the week and aired during the newscast, giving the audience a direct voice in the national conversation.

The program also keeps viewers connected beyond Belize’s borders through its dedicated international and regional news segment, Pulso Internacional, which highlights major developments shaping the wider region and the world.

Producer Hipolito Novelo says the growth has been both humbling and motivating. “We are so happy that Noticiero 5 Semanal has grown to be loved and appreciated across the country. We also have viewers from other countries who love the program. I think it is a service that the population needs and supports. We are thrilled to have evolved over the past twelve months and we look forward to evolving even more in the coming years.”

The program has strengthened its presence across digital platforms, growing its audience on social media and reaching younger viewers who consume news online.
