Police have detained one man and are searching for another in relation to Sunday’s late-night shooting that left 18-year-old Noe Batun dead in Guinea Grass Village, Orange Walk.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith confirmed that the fatal incident unfolded after a dispute broke out inside a bar establishment in the village. According to police investigation, one suspect was escorted off the premises but later returned with another individual.

“It is reported and alleged that that male person returned in the company of another and is alleged to have fired a shot into the bar which resulted in the injury of Batun and his eventual demise,” Smith said.
