Opposition Urges Action as Domestic Violence Crisis Deepens in Belize

We keep our attention on a growing crisis that continues to claim lives across Belize, domestic violence. The Leader of the Opposition, Tracy Taegar-Panton, delivered a powerful message earlier today, calling for urgent action.

“This morning, we made special mention of the recent victims of domestic violence, but the truth is domestic violence continues to be very prevalent in our society, and we cannot remain silent. Silence, as we have seen in the case of Kiera, and we have seen in the case of Angelita and her children, ultimately can lead to an early demise. So let us join forces as we advocate for more stringent measures as it relates to the protection of victims of this epidemic.”
