Orange Walk Man Charged in Attempted Robbery

Police have arrested and charged 40‑year‑old labourer Oscar Arnolfo Calderon of San Ignacio Street, Orange Walk Town, for the crime of attempted robbery.

The arrest follows a report made on the morning of December 9 by the store owner of Bangladesh Minimart. According to police, a masked man entered the establishment armed with a metal pipe. The suspect reportedly lifted his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a firearm. The store owner fled the building and reported the matter to authorities.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and subsequently obtained a search warrant for Calderon’s residence. Police say the search yielded evidence linking him to the attempted robbery.
