Orange Walk Woman Charged for Human Trafficking
On Tuesday, November eleventh, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Police Unit arrested and charged forty-six-year-old Reyna Urbina of Orange Walk with two counts of labor trafficking and two counts of sex trafficking. Authorities allege Urbina trafficked two adult women from Central America for both labor and sexual exploitation. Urbina is out on bail of ten thousand dollars with strict conditions: surrendering all travel documents, reporting twice weekly to police, and avoiding any contact with witnesses. The case is set to return to court on January sixteenth, 2026. This arrest was the result of a coordinated effort involving the Police Department, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Immigration, Human Services, INTERPOL Belize, and several NGOs. Officials say this collaboration underscores Belize’s commitment to protecting victims and prosecuting traffickers.
