Osman Pineda Faces Manslaughter Charges After Highway Tragedy
There’s a major development in that deadly crash near Hattieville. Police have now charged forty-year-old Osman Pineda, a construction worker from Belize City, in connection with the accident that claimed two lives last Thursday night. Investigators say Pineda faces multiple charges, including manslaughter by negligence and careless driving, after the collision between miles thirteen and fourteen on the George Price Highway. The victims have been identified as Mexican nationals Othoniel Vasquez Moreno and Amisadai Valdez Dominguez.

“On Thursday, October 9th, 2025, police formally arrested and charged Osman Pineda, a forty-year-old construction worker of Belama, Belize City, for two counts of manslaughter by negligence, two counts of causing death by careless conduct, one count of driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention, and one count of failing to keep as close as possible to the righthand side of the road. This arrest came as a consequence of police investigation into the fatal traffic accident which occurred on Thursday, October ninth, at approximately 11:20 p.m., between miles thirteen and fourteen on the George Price Highway. This accident claimed the lives of Mexican national Othoniel Vasquez Moreno and Amisadai Valdez Dominguez.”
