“Are you able to say if it’s being investigated as a possible inside information? Because you will know it’s a significant amount of cash that was allegedly stolen. I don’t imagine that the establishment has that type of money on hand at all times, so perhaps it was timed to coincide when the money bog me full.”

“Certainly several theories are being explored. In the interest of conducting a thorough investigation, I will also use this opportunity to advise the general public that as we are moving on into the Christmas celebration and even the Garifuna Settlement day celebration, economic activity increases and we have noted on our end a slight increase in terms of property crimes. This is a common thing when it comes to these seasons, and it is for these reasons that while us as a department are doing our part in terms of putting operational efforts in place, we ask members of the general public to take the necessary precautions to safeguard themselves from being victims of persons who seek to deprive them of their personal belongings. We ask persons to be security conscious. We urge persons when they see individuals who are not accustomed to being in that area, traveling to report it, form a neighborhood watch groups that you guys are able to better communicate with each other. As I stated, the season that we are approaching is one that has traditionally seen an increase in property related crime, and we urge and as persons to take the necessary precautions to safeguard themselves.”
