“Each organization represented here brings unique expertise, knowledge and experience that strengthens Belize’s restoration efforts. This collaboration goes hand in hand with the implementation of Belize’s National Landscape Restoration Strategy, which provides the framework for achieving our national restoration targets while balancing, ecological, social and economic priority. The strategy recognizes that restoration is not simply about recovering degraded lands but also about creating resilient landscape that supports biodiversity, strengthen livelihood and enhance food security, improve water resources and contribute to climate resources. Through the Greening Belize initiative we continue translating policy commitment into tangible actions. We are creating pathways for stronger partnerships, greater public participation and data driven decision making.”
The project focuses heavily on restoring wildfire affected areas and agro-productive zones.
