PM Briceño Preps for Three Days of Fiery Budget Debates
With the national budget debate just days away, Prime Minister John Briceño is already setting the tone, promising a three‑day showcase of what he says are his administration’s biggest wins across the country. He expects his ministers to use the House floor to outline what he calls “tremendous work” happening in every sector, from infrastructure to social programs. But Briceño is also bracing for political clashes, signaling that he’ll be ready to counter any attempts by the opposition to, as he puts it, “twist the truth” once debate begins on March twenty‑third.

“Well I do expect that every minister will be able to stand up and speak about the work that they are doing in their ministries and if the opposition was to say something that they are twisting the truth of the work, and obviously they have to counter and answer back, but I do expect that it is a wonderful opportunity for them to highlight the wonderful work we are doing, be it in agriculture, in the economy, be it in health, education, be it in work with our BDF and police officers, there are so much work we are doing, infrastructure development. A young lady was just thanking me because we paved the road that goes through Billy White from Spanish Lookout all the way to San Ignacio and Santa Elena. These projects transformed lives, makes tier lives much easier and the expansion of electricity. We just put electricity in San Carlos, and in Fireburn, they had never had electricity, and we are doing that also expanding more systems in the Toledo District. So, we are doing tremendous work that has a direct impact in the lives of our people.”
