PM Briceño says Former PM Barrow Sees PUP’s Win Coming
A prediction from a former rival is turning heads. Former UDP Prime Minister Dean Barrow declared publicly that, in his view, the Briceño administration will win a third consecutive term, because the opposition has been unable to find its footing and unite. Today, we asked Prime Minister John Briceño whether he appreciated those comments. He says that the former PM is admitting that the PUP is doing a good job.

“I think, I think that former Prime Minister Barrow has begrudgingly admitted that the government has been doing a good job. We are not perfect. We make mistakes, but whenever we make any mistakes and we become aware of it, we try to correct them, we do not try to hide from it and that whole idea that we have in trying to fight and find ways of making Belizean lives better, we have never drawn away from that. And I know there has been a lot of talking about this whole issue about social justice. Well, our government is about social justice. Every day we breathe, we talk, we dream about social justice, and how we can find ways to make the lives of our citizens better. So, I think he saw what is inevitable. Whatever is going on within his party, that is their business. I have to worry about our party and making sure we remain focused in getting the work of the people done.”
