PM Briceño to Speak at Caribbean Maritime Awards in Florida

Prime Minister John Briceño will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Anchor Awards hosted by the American Caribbean Maritime Foundation (ACMF) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 6. The event celebrates individuals and organisations that support education and careers in the marine industry across the Caribbean. This year’s theme is “Talent in Your Backyard Caribbean: A Sea of Opportunity.”

Prime Minister Briceño is also the patron of the event, which will honour U.S. Federal Maritime Commissioner Louis Sola and global shipping company CMA CGM for their contributions to the sector. ACMF President Geneive Brown Metzger said the foundation is proud to welcome Prime Minister Briceño, noting that partnerships with governments and private companies help fund training for young people in the region.

Founded in 2018, ACMF has provided nearly $3 million in scholarships and training to more than 500 Caribbean students pursuing maritime careers.
