Police Arrest Tafaree Sanchez for Daylight Shooting

Police have arrested 25-year-old Tafaree Sanchez of Vernon Street in connection with a violent highway shooting that took place in September. Sanchez is now facing three counts of attempted murder.

Investigators say Sanchez and a 17-year-old minor were inside the vehicle chasing a light blue Chevy Equinox along the Phillip Goldson Highway near mile three. The pursuit escalated near Reimer’s Feed Mill, where gunmen reportedly jumped out and opened fire on the SUV.

The chase didn’t stop there. Another round of gunfire erupted in front of Maheia’s United, injuring 36-year-old Glenford Reed and 28-year-old Joshua Augustine. The suspected target, Jahreem “32” Staine, escaped without injury.

The teenager was arrested shortly after the incident, and police issued a wanted poster for Sanchez. He was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned today in the lower court.

Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack and whether others may have been involved.

The shooting was caught on camera.
