Police Celebrate Women’s Month with Symposium Honoring Female Officers
As Women’s Month begins, the Belize Police Department is recognizing the contributions of the women who strengthen the force and the communities they serve.
A special symposium held today highlighted issues affecting women in law enforcement, including career development, trauma, and cancer awareness. Senior officers strssed the importance of these topics for the personal and professional growth of female officers.
“Today, as you know, we have Women’s Month,” said Sr. Supt. Dehanne Augustine, Second in Charge of the Belize District. “This symposium covers important topics that are necessary for our growth, such as career development, trauma, and cancer. These topics are not only being discussed today, but this is an opportunity to emphasize how vital they are for our women.”
The event also honored outstanding female officers for their dedication to community service, arrests, years of service, and contributions to the enhancement of the police department. In the Belize District alone, 22 women received awards recognizing their commitment and impact.
The Belize Police Department says Women’s Month provides a platform to celebrate female officers, spotlight their achievements, and raise awareness of the challenges they face in law enforcement.
