Police Charge Belize City Fisherman

Police have arrested and charged 24-year-old Kyle Cadle, a Belizean fisherman of Belize City,with keeping a firearm without a gun licence and keeping ammunition without a gun licence.

According to police, officers conducting a motorcycle patrol on Riverside Street observed a man riding a black beach cruiser bicycle toward them on Monday morning. 

Police say the man suddenly changed direction and fled into a nearby yard upon noticing the patrol. Officers pursued the suspect and reported seeing him discard an object near a zinc fence.

A search of the area led to the discovery of a black firearm fitted with a magazine containing eight 9mm rounds of ammunition, police said.
