Police Identify Murder Victim Found in Garbage Drum

Belize City police have identified the woman whose body was discovered on Saturday evening stuffed inside a garbage drum at the corner of Amandala Drive and Cemetery Road. She is 42-year-old Shaniele Faber, a resident of Belize City.

Faber’s body, which was in a state of decomposition, was reportedly transported to the location in a blue plastic barrel on a trolley. Police have since detained a man. He is believed to have been seen moving the container earlier that same morning.

Investigators suspect that the murder took place inside a nearby apartment before the victim’s remains were placed in the drum and dumped. Surveillance footage in the area is said to have captured key parts of the incident.
