Police Investigate Mysterious Death of Elderly Woman in Fresh Pond

Authorities are investigating the sudden death of 72-year-old Linda Morgan, whose body was discovered early Thursday morning in the bathroom of her home in the Fresh Pond Community near Burrell Boom, Belize District.

Morgan was found with cut wounds to her legs. Police say she did not live alone, and there were no signs of forced entry to the residence.

ASP Stacy Smith confirmed the details during a police press briefing. “On 23rd October, at approximately 3:00 AM, police were called to the residence of Mrs Morgan, and upon their arrival, they were escorted to the bathroom in that residence. Where they observed the unresponsive body of Mrs Morgan, which exhibited cut wounds to the leg.”

The forensic unit was called to process the scene, and investigators have collected several exhibits. Statements are being recorded from individuals who may be able to assist with the case.

Smith added, “It is a death investigation, and the investigation will determine what police believe resulted in her death.”

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled to determine the official cause of death. Police have not released information on Morgan’s medical history and continue to follow leads in this mysterious case.
