Police Officer Arrested in Brutal Hattieville Double Murder

There’s a shocking twist in a month-long murder investigation, a young police officer is now behind bars, accused of killing twin siblings in Hattieville. Twenty-five-year-old Orvin Williams, a serving officer, has been arrested and charged in connection with the brutal murders of fifty-seven-year-old Paul Esquilliano and Paula Belisle. The fraternal twins were found shot to death inside Paula’s home on Ysaguirre Boulevard on the afternoon of September fifteenth. For weeks, the case remained unsolved. But on Friday, the Belize Police Department revealed a stunning development: one of their own had been taken into custody and is now awaiting arraignment. So, what led to this tragic turn of events? Investigators say Williams had been in a relationship with Paula Belisle’s daughter, who sadly passed away some time ago.

“We’ve received reports that the young man had been stealing money from the woman’s credit union account. Is theft a part of the motive for why he took their lives?”

“As stated, it is an ongoing investigation. Though an arrest has been made, the investigation has not concluded. The information that has been ascertained will be placed before the court. So that is the venue for that to be disclosed.”
