Police Probe Disturbing Dog Abuse Case in Cotton Tree Village

Police have launched an investigation into a disturbing case of alleged animal abuse in Cotton Tree Village after a video circulating online showed a man violently beating a tied-up dog. The footage, which has sparked outrage, depicts the animal unable to escape or defend itself. Witnesses claim the man was intoxicated at the time and that he routinely mistreats the dog. Reports further suggest that authorities had previously removed another dog from the same individual due to similar abuse.

“That video has come to the police’s attention. We are in possession of it, and the commissioner has directed for the information as relates to where it occurred to be ascertained. I believe what we have received so far is that it was in Cotton Tree Village. I’m not sure if it has been confirmed, but certainly it is a matter that the department takes seriously because, I mean, there is absolutely no justification for what was seen on that video. So certainly, it is being investigated, and as progress is made, that will be forwarded to the media.”

 

If found, the perpetrators would be charged with cruelty to animals.
