Police Seek Two Men in Bella Vista Investigation

Tonight, police are seeking two men from Bella Vista for questioning. They are twenty-two-year-old Santos Chirinos and twenty-two-year-old Dixon Caceres. Their wanted posters say police are seeking them for questioning, without specifying the nature of the investigation. But as we reported earlier this week, drug trade is fueling violence in the community. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith, the department has implemented measures aimed at targeting these drug trade actors.

“What I will say is that it is an ongoing investigation and I will urge everyone who has information to assist in this investigation to provide that information to the police. The police department remains resolute in its fight against drugs. I know often times when police officers make arrest for drug related offense, the comments I see in the general public is that oh it is just a drug arrest, a drug arrest and they don’t understand that drugs are the impetus behind a lot of these incidents. So, I would hope that persons are not as flippant when it comes to identifying those persons who sell drugs within their community and relaying that information to police, because the sickness and selling and usage of drugs is something that goes very far. As I indicated on that occasion, the driver appears to be drug related in that community. The department is responding and has put several operational efforts into place.”
