Police Seeking One Suspect in August Pine Ridge Chopping
Earlier this week, a terrified father made a call to police alerting them that his son, thirty-four-year-old Juan Diaz, had been severely injured in a chopping incident. According to him, around three a.m. on Wednesday, Diaz arrived home bleeding from his head, back and hands, before falling unconscious before him. Today, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Stacy Sith confirmed that police are seeking a suspect in the investigation.

“Wednesday fifth day of November, 2025, at approximately seven a.m., officers attached to the crimes investigation branch of the Orange Walk police formation, visited the Northern Regional hospital. Having been advised that a male person who was exhibiting chop wounds was seeking attention at that institution. The identity of that individual was learned to be thirty-four-year-old Carlos Diaz, a Belizean laborer of August Pine Ridge Village in Orange Walk District. What the investigation has so far revealed is that sometime after three a.m. on this day, fifth November, Diaz was accosted by two male persons who inflicted the wounds to him. Mr. Diaz was able to make it home and he subsequently sought medical attention. Police have interviewed a number of persons and we are seeking a particular person of interest.”
