Police Swarm CET Site, as Murder and Highway Shooting May Be Linked

Heightened police activity is drawing attention in the CET Site area tonight, as investigators zero in on a possible link between two violent incidents. Authorities say the recent murder of Jamal Samuels may be connected to this week’s shooting along the Phillip Goldson Highway that left Hubert Baptist and Eric Frazer hospitalized. With tensions rising, officers have stepped up their presence as they work to restore a sense of calm in that community.

“At the present moment, since the incident happened, from last night we engaged our operational teams in the area with an effort to prevent incidents from happening due to that. We knew from the beginning when we had the incident of Mr. Baptist on the Phillp Goldson Highway that retaliation was possible. From there we activated our operations within that area. We are continuing to target known persons that might cause havoc within the area of the Martins.”

“So can you confirm if this murder and the Baptist shooting has any kind of connection?”

Sr. Superintendent Reymundo Reyes

“There is a possibility that yes they are connected.”

We will continue to monitor the situation in the area and the effectiveness of police operations over the weekend.
