Port Loyola Fire Destroys Two-Story Wooden Home

A two-story wooden home on Ground Dove Street in the Port Loyola area was destroyed by fire this morning. The fire is believed to have started from a room on the first floor, though fire officials are yet to confirm. The occupants of the house were unable to save anything from the burning structure, resulting in complete loss of property. As for the firefighting efforts, reports are that firemen arrived on the scene long after fire began. They were, however, able to put out the blaze and prevent any damage to surrounding properties. At least six people occupied the destroyed building. The family has since issued a public appeal for assistance. The immediate need is temporary housing. They are also seeking assistance with clothing and basic necessities, as well as funds for rebuilding. The number to call is 630-5508. No official report has been released on the incident.
