Pregnancy Delays Jasmine Hartin’s Court Case Again

Jasmine Hartin’s long-running court case has been delayed again, this time, because she’s pregnant. Her attorney, Arthur Saldivar, told the court she’s dealing with health issues and can’t travel. The case, which began in San Pedro in 2021 and was later moved to Belize City, involves drug and assault charges. Saldivar is challenging the delay, arguing Hartin’s constitutional right to a timely trial has been violated. He’s filed a “case stated” application to take the matter to the High Court. The magistrate has given the prosecution until September fifteenth to respond, with the next hearing set for October first.
