Quick-Thinking Homeowner Helps Nab Burglar in Armenia

A quick-thinking homeowner and a fast police response led to the arrest of a burglar in Armenia Village. Twenty-seven-year-old Elvis Larios was caught inside the home with stolen items after the owner’s security system alerted him to the break-in. The homeowner called Belmopan police who moved in and made the arrest. ASP Stacy Smith tells us more about how it unfolded.

On Sunday, January fourth, 2026, Belmopan Police formerly arrested and charge twenty-seven-year-old Elvis Larios, a Belizean construction worker of Armenia Village for the crime of burglary. The arrest of Larios follows police’s response to a burglary in progress at a residence in Armenia Village. The homeowner who was away at that time reported to police that his security system alerted him to some movement at his property. And when police made checks at that residence, they found Mr. Larios therein and in his position were two items belonging to the homeowner.”
