Ramada Princess Remains Open, Despite BTB Closure Announcement

The Ramada Princess Hotel has responded to the public’s confusion over speculation that the hotel was closing down. On Friday, the Belize Tourism board issued a public notice announcing that the closure of the Ramada Belize City Princess Hotel. The announcement references section twenty-eight two (B) of the Hotel and Tourist Accommodation Act. This section reads quote, “The Registrar may cancel a license and/ or direct a hotel or tourist accommodation to be closed following….the failure of the proprietor to obtain or to renew a license.” End quote. However, the management of the Princess Casino Belize City has issued a statement clarifying that the casino remains open and fully operational, stating “The Princess Casino remains open. Our operations continue as normal, and we remain committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and first-class entertainment experience for all our guests”.
